Champions League Round of 8… FC Schalke 04

With the UEFA Champions League resuming play this week, we thought it would be nice to familiarize everyone with the remaining 8 teams.  Most of them will be familiar to everyone, but there are a few surprises… So let’s take a look at the “other” team from the Bundesliga, FC Schalke 04

Stadium – VELTINS-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany – Since  2001 – 61,673 capacity

  • Total record – 12-6-12
  • This year marks the first year Schalke has made it to the knockout stages, advancing past Valencia in the round of 16
  • This round’s opponent is Internazionale – the two teams have never met in the Champions League
  • Schalke’s leading scorer in this year’s competition – Farfan with 4 goals
