Champions League Round of 8… Manchester United

With the UEFA Champions League resuming play this week, we thought it would be nice to familiarize everyone with the remaining 8 teams.  Most of them will be familiar to everyone, but there are a few surprises… So let’s take a look at the 3rd team from England, Manchester United

  • Total record – 95-44-36 (17 appearances)
  • Have won the Champions League twice – ’98/’99 and ’07/’08 (also in 1968 before the format changed)
  • Met this round’s opponent, Chelsea, in the ’07/’08 finals – won via penalty kicks.
  • Were runners up in ’08/’09 – lost to Barcelona 2-0
  • Leading scorer in this year’s competition – Javier Hernandez with 3 goals
